About Us

Collage on a light background with layered paper pieces and a gold pen. Text reads: “THIS IS WHO I AM.” Another strip says, “I believe magic belongs alongside dirty dishes and desperation.” A small card reads: “Jo Eckstein (she/her). Overwhelm Alchemist. Magic Maker. Reluctant Grown-up. Creator of ‘Archetypes For The Different’. I work at the edge of wonder and overwhelm.” A torn fragment at the bottom says “almost.” There’s a smaller collage titled “ME AND THINGS I LOVE” with red shoes, books, a rose, and other personal elements.

This space was never meant to centre just one story.
It was built for the ones who live at the edges.

Neurodivergent. Exhausted. Chronically ill. Gender diverse.
Carers. Maskers. Rule-breakers. Magic believers.
The ones trying to hold it all together.
The ones gripping tight and not even sure why.

These are my people.

My life has been shaped by long-term caring for a chronically ill husband,
raising neurodivergent teens,
supporting people I love through gender transitions,
and navigating an ADHD brain through burnout, isolation, and uncertainty.

Overwhelm. Every. Single. Day.

What I offer comes from living all of this: the contradiction, the chaos, the beauty, and the reality of what it means to keep going.

My roots are in naturopathy and energy healing. A foundation that anchors the magic, alchemy, and mythic wayfinding I offer.

Work that’s rooted in real life, practical strategy, and the kind of help people actually need.

That’s why I created For The Different.

A space for the ones who’ve been misnamed, misunderstood, or missed entirely.
For those who need support that actually fits.

At the heart of this are the Archetypes for The Different.
A way to name what went unseen.
A way to see ourselves clearly, maybe for the first time.

This isn’t about changing who you are.
It’s not about chasing perfection or trying to be "normal".

It’s about finding magic in the middle of the mess.
A life that works for who you actually are.

So no, this isn’t just about me.
It’s about us.

I live in the AND / AND:
Magic and mess.
Capacity and collapse.
Joy and holy hell.

A space for the ones who’ve been misnamed, misunderstood, or missed entirely.
For those who need support that actually fits.
